Welcome Welcome to the Youth Section of the UK Serama Club. This section is for UKSC members under the age of 18 years old. Just to introduce myself - my name is Mike and I have been keeping and breeding my own collection of poultry for the past 5 years (but have lived with animals all my life). I specialise in Serama bantams and my flock is called Sekim Seramas. I go to horticultural college at the moment, but I am looking into vet nursing training too. My interests are Serama and poultry healthcare.
I am the Youth Administrator of the UK Serama Club, which basically means I look after the youth section of this club. I am here to help and provide useful information and updates on Serama but with a bit of fun thrown in too. I liaise with the adult section and also represent us at AGMs, committee meetings etc.
The Youth Section was formed because it was felt that there are a lot of potential young members out there and a section specifically meeting the needs of younger members would encourage young people to become part of UKSC.
Also through here you can get more involved with new developments and plans within the club, but at the same time understand the Serama bantam in more detail – with topics such as Serama genetics, incubation etc being simplified.
We are also making more and more connections with other youth sections of Serama clubs across the world from the USA to the Netherlands.
